Hiatus House relies on the support of volunteers for fundraising events, awareness activities and general shelter support such as wrapping gifts and organizing donations.

Q. Do volunteers work directly with women or children staying at Hiatus House?
A. No. Volunteers are needed in many other supporting roles.
Q. Are hours guaranteed?
A. No. Most of the volunteer opportunities are in support of events that are staggered throughout the year, with a concentration from September through December.
Q. How will I be notified of a volunteer opportunity?
A. Our volunteer coordinator will e-mail you opportunities as they arise.
Q. What is the process for becoming a volunteer?
A. Please contact us at volunteer@hiatushouse.com to begin the sign-up process. We will connect you with our volunteer coordinator to help set you up. You will need to attend an information session and sign a confidentiality form before you will be offered a volunteer opportunity.
