About the Guidebook

Service providers across many sectors may encounter individuals experiencing human trafficking without recognizing the signs or knowing how to respond. This evidence-informed guidebook provides practical information on human trafficking, trauma-informed care, and survivor-centred approaches. Evaluation of the original Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) funded guidebook found that participants increased: their knowledge, confidence in recognizing indicators of exploitation, and capacity to support survivors.

With additional funding from WAGE, Hiatus House is expanding the guidebook’s reach across Canada and into a broader range of sectors and organizations.
